Job description
Professor of Health Technology Innovation & Assessment

Join our team!

We are seeking to recruit a Professor of Health Technology Innovation & Assessment with an international reputation as an outstanding academic leader in this field.

If you are passionate about leading the way in health technology research, innovation, and assessment then this is the role for you! We are seeking an individual with a strong track record of income generation and high quality research publications to contribute to a future REF exercise. You will join a growing team of highly experienced researchers within the School of Health and Social care.  Given the multi-disciplinary nature of this academic field it is also expected that you will work collaboratively with other academic colleagues across the University (e.g. health professionals, laboratory scientists, engineers, computer scientists and others). In developing a programme of internationally recognised research, you will also work externally with key collaborators, to support the development and subsequent evaluation of new health technologies (ranging from novel procedures and therapeutics to devices and programmes). You will also work closely with two new research centres being developed in the School focused on cardiovascular health and mental health.  A fully funded PhD studentship has been allocated to support the research of the successful candidate.

The key focus of this role is research and research leadership; however, you will also have an opportunity to inform our education provision through specialist contribution to taught programmes, in line with your subject expertise.

As a member of the Health and Social Care Sciences Subject Group and Professoriate within the School, you will provide academic leadership in partnership with the Head of Subject, the Dean and the School Leadership Team who are collectively responsible for the successful implementation of the School strategy.

You will be supported in the role to further develop your own academic career through access to a range of resources available to all University staff, and through a coaching approach to personal development.

We work in an inclusive way and can support flexible and remote working.

If you’re excited at the prospect of joining our fantastic interprofessional team then we’d love to receive an application from you!
