Job Description
The successful candidate will work with Prof. Sam Li under a project on Development and Verification of Prototype Real-time and Online Monitoring System for Sustainable Clean Water Supplies.
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Design of an automation system for a water sensor prototype
- Fabrication of the designed automation system
- Integration of the fabricated system with the sensor and its software
- Testing and evaluation of the fabricated system
- Improvement of the fabricated system where necessary
- Multi-element analysis using the automated sensor system, inductively coupled plasma triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (ICP-QQQ) and metal speciation analysis using liquid chromatography (LC) coupled to ICP-QQQ (LC-ICP-QQQ)
Qualifications
- Qualifications / Discipline:
- PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering or electronic engineering
- • Skills:
- Competency in designing and performing experiments related to heavy metals and metal speciation analysis
- Skills to design an automation system for real application
- Skills to build the automated prototype toxic metals detection and speciation system
- Competence to write the software or app for the system to communicate with the sensor software
- Competence to integrate the automation system and sensor for a final automated smart sensor
- Experience:
- Expertise in chemical sensors and biosensors development
