This is your opportunity to join us in a role that will focus on data selection and extraction, processing, analysis and visualisation and the creation of MI and BI reports accompanied by relevant documentation.

As part of a team of experienced report developers, you primary focus will be on designing, creating and supporting a diverse range of reporting and analytical products to service the University’s growing Data Reporting and Analytics requirements. It will cover a broad range of data sets too, including everything from internal Student, Staff and Finance data through to information provided by external providers and partners. What’s more, we’ll rely on you to provide consultation to senior staff on the availability and quality of data and the capabilities and functionalities of the various tools available. This will then lead to the creation and maintenance of management information (MI) and business intelligence (BI) tools and products that are used by staff as well as students.

To succeed, you’ll need a degree level qualification in Computing, Data Science or a relevant numerate discipline, while experience of HE Environments, HE common data sets and key metrics on student retention and progression would be a definite plus. You’ll also need extensive experience of using Microsoft BI and in-depth knowledge of recognised BI Tools (inc. QlikView, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Pentaho). Well-versed in data extraction, analysis and manipulation, you have a history of managing large datasets and integrating new ones into existing tools and are adept at creating advanced reports and analytics products. You’re also comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and engaging with stakeholders and consulting with Board level executives and undertaking and delivering the training required to support our MI and BI endeavours.
