The Faculty of Health Sciences (http://www.uwo.ca/fhs/) at Western University invites applications for a 2-year limited-term faculty appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, in Health and Aging.  The successful candidate will be appointed to the School of Health Studies (http://www.uwo.ca/fhs/shs/) and will be responsible for providing dynamic educational experiences at undergraduate and/or graduate levels that will complement existing strengths in the School. Principal duties will include the development and teaching of courses that include, but are not limited to: 

HS 3702A/B – Aging Mind
HS 3704A/B – Population Aging and Health
HS 4740A/B – Chronic Disease Prevention and Management
HS 4705A/B – Aging and Community Health
HS 4710A/B – Palliative and End of Life Care

Candidates must hold a PhD or Master's degree in a related health field, have demonstrated excellence in teaching in the area of Health and Aging, and an enthusiasm for quality education.  Preference may be given to candidates with a PhD in an area related to the study of health and aging.

The successful candidate will also have demonstrated expertise in developing and teaching courses in traditional and flexible learning environments, including online delivery.  Evidence of engagement or prior working relationships with relevant community partner organizations will also be considered an asset given the School’s focus on evidence and practice-based education. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in relevant service to both the School of Health Studies and the broader university community. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to contribute substantively to an inclusive and diverse academic community. Rank and salary will be commensurate with educational qualifications and experience. The anticipated start date of this appointment is July 1, 2021, or as negotiated.
