About the opportunity

We have an opportunity for an Associate Lecturer (Aboriginal Health) to support the University Centre for Rural Health - Lismore Aboriginal Health Education Program. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a University environment, with a team of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander staff, and in a workplace that values diversity.

The Associate Lecturer (Aboriginal Health) will be involved in teaching students in small group settings, in person and online, about relevant Aboriginal culture and history. The role will also support various programs including working with the team to support the Baribunmani Program, which is designed to engage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to move into the health workforce; and coordinate the Upskilling Our Mob (UOM) program, in partnership with the UCRH simulation team. UOM provides local ACCHS competency-based clinical training to Aboriginal health workers and clinical staff.

  • has an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification or equivalent lived experience and skills
  • has experience teaching small groups about Aboriginal history and culture
  • is Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander and has a strong connection to community and an interest in healthcare outcomes.

This position has been designated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only under the provisions of section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
