About the Role

The University’s IT Department, iSolutions, is recruiting a key role to deliver a wide range of projects that support the University’s vast IT Infrastructure.

You will be joining a team of dedicated Project Managers, highly experienced in delivering IT projects, within a structured Portfolio Management Office. The role sits within the Service Lifecycle Sub-Portfolio, and most of your projects focus on the maintenance and support of our major systems and services, that are integral to the smooth running of our University.

The projects you deliver will benefit a diverse community of 20,000+ students and 5,500+ University staff.

What you’ll do

  • Take a leading role in delivering change to the University community
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Manage your project priorities, tolerances and escalations
  • Produce relevant management information, reports, briefings and presentations as required, to keep stakeholders well informed and updated on project status and progress
  • Work with technical teams to utilise the organisation’s project delivery and technical architecture frameworks
  • Contribute to continual improvement working practices and identify new developments in the sector, for potential use within the University.

What you’ll bring 

  • Experience in project management, preferably within the IT sector 
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills
  • The ability to manage and influence broad and diverse project teams
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring your time is spent appropriately to ensure successful delivery
  • Foster strong internal relationships with technical and business colleagues, to agree project aims and secure resource to deliver them
