Job Description

The Department of Government and society seeks to fill a full-time position of a Full Professor in Public Administration (or Public Administration and Public Policy as a double major) with consideration for qualified candidates who hold Associate Professor rank. The position will be of interest to those with expertise in any Public Administration subfields, such as: Public Organization Theory, Public Organizational Behavior, Public Human Resource Management, Public Organizational Leadership, Public Policy Making and Analysis, Public Budgeting and Finance, Public Sector Governance, and Comparative Public Administration. The role holder will be a member of The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS). They will be a recognized authority in their field, developing and maintaining a high-profile external profile and will become a leading member of a dynamic, cutting edge research culture, having access to the excellent research facilities which UAEU offers. They will have a vital role to play in the development and achievement of CHSS within the context of the strategic goals of UAEU, leading research and scholarship in your field. They will be expected to lead on advanced, internationally excellent research, securing high impact research funding, to teach and to supervise at the undergraduate and graduate levels, to contribute to admissions, examining and assessment, and to contribute fully to academic administration in both the Department, the College, and the University.

Minimum Qualification

PhD in Public Administration (or the double major of: Public Administration and Public Policy) with extensive experience teaching both public administration and public policy related courses from an accredited and reputable Western university granted through a full-time doctoral study and residency. Successful candidates should have strong theoretical and professional background in Public Administration and Public Policy and a track record of teaching Public Administration and Public Policy courses in both undergraduate and graduate levels. Excellent command of writing, reading, and speaking both Arabic and English languages

Preferred Qualification

PhD in the double-major of “Public Administration and Public Policy” with extensive teaching and research in pubic organization theory, public sector human resource management, and public policy administration, analysis and evaluation. Expertise in teaching online as well as face-to-face graduate and undergraduate courses is preferred.

Therefore, successful candidate should be a bilingual with native or near-native English skills in addition to possessing high proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Arabic. Successful candidate will make a full contribution to the academic life of the University through research, teaching, supervising master theses written in Arabic and English, and academic service. Position holder is expected to have extensive teaching experience, together with a significant publication record, proven research experience and to have demonstrated academic leadership and an ability to lead and manage effectively. There is considerable flexibility in the organization of duties and faculty work.
