Starting Salary is £51,034 per annum. London Allowance of £2,134 will be payable in addition to salary.

Applications are invited for a 1.0 FTE Senior Lecturer in Global and Planetary Health in the Department of Health Studies, Royal Holloway University of London. 

The successful applicant will join a new Department. The Department is located within the School of Life Sciences and the Environment, which has created this post as part of the strategic development of its work in the field of health studies. The post-holder will have a particular role in developing new PGT programming on global health and biodiversity. They will be dynamic and enthusiastic with the ability to inform and inspire students and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. 

Applicants should demonstrate appropriate expertise in global health and biodiversity, related to the potential teaching areas of the post. The applicant will make a teaching and coordination contribution mainly, but not exclusively at postgraduate levels appropriate to a 1.0 FTE workload, focusing on leading and delivering a new PGT teaching course on Global Health and Biodiversity, in partnership with Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. 

We are particularly interested in the following areas of competency and experience: PGT programme leadership, management and curriculum development, delivering and organising field-based teaching and organising field trips, and successful track of external and interdisciplinary collaborations. Delivering interdisciplinary teaching and training will involve working with multiple departments and external partners such as RBG Kew. Experience in developing coherent, stimulating and globally-relevant post-graduate programmes is highly desirable. 

Specific teaching expertise in the links between human health, wellbeing and livelihoods with global environmental challenges such as climate change, food security and biodiversity loss, and/or an interest in economic and ecological approaches to managing landscapes to maximise societal benefit from nature and natural resources would be highly relevant.
