Applications are invited for a fixed term, 3 years (to end no later than 31st May 2024) Assistant Professorship position in the School of Engineering. We are particularly seeking to strengthen our capabilities in Electrical/Electronic/Computing Engineering and the creation and exploitation of intellectual property in an industrial context – i.e. generating research impact.  You will join an internationally leading research group working and preferable have a background in one of these areas: The Internet of Things, Cyber Physical Systems, RF Comms, Power Electronics or Power Systems. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own research area, making proposals as appropriate to fund and take forwards your research interests. You will be expected to contribute to the teaching activity within the School through lectures, laboratories, tutorials and supervision of project students.  

The successful candidate will have a good honours degree (BSc/BEng/MEng) and a PhD in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering, or in a relevant area. They will have a strong research ability to initiate, develop and deliver high quality research and to publish in peer reviewed journals and will be able to demonstrate an ability to build working relationships with industrial end-users. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written are essential as is the ability to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
