The Plymouth Marjon Teacher Education Partnership is a values-based collaborative partnership that ensures excellent outcomes for pupils, trainees and teachers.

We believe that each staff member contributes directly to the University’s growth and success, with our values at the heart of everything we do. Marjon continues to experience significant development, and we have an ambitious learning, research and engagement agenda. Staff are encouraged and supported to be innovative in their teaching, enabling students to thrive and build firm foundations in their chosen field.

The Marjon Teacher Education Partnership (Marjon TEP) is locally and nationally renowned for producing high quality teachers who are not only job ready but promotion ready; our Teacher Education graduates earn some of the highest wages in the South West and Wales as a result of being in demand as future leaders (DFE LEO Data 2018). All members of the Marjon TEP are responsible for the promotion and improvement of high-quality teaching and learning for trainees and pupils.

Plymouth Marjon University has been ranked No. 1 in England for teaching quality for the last 2 years (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, 2019 and 2020). We are looking for a Dean of Teacher Education to maintain our focus on exceptional teaching, learning and assessment across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate routes into teaching.

The Dean of Teacher Education will be responsible for maintaining and building on this reputation. We are therefore looking for someone with vision, in-depth and expert knowledge of the sector and extensive experience of leading Initial Teacher Education and managing partnerships.
