Job description
The Department of Learning and Teaching Enhancement (DLTE) has led a Digital Support Partnership Project to manage and learn from the impact of COVID-19 on our programmes.

We now need to employ a mixed methods researcher who will work with evaluative data already collected and extend the data set by gathering personal accounts from students and staff.

The role

The role holder will need to lead this project, working with DLTE to report findings to senior managers capable of wider dissemination. The individual will be able to work using their own initiative and creativity to achieve defined objectives in agreed time scales.


This role will involve synthesising a wide range of quantitative and qualitative date in order to help understand the impact of COVID-19 on our programmes for both students and staff. The role holder will also be expected to carry out data collection using a mixed methods approach, which will then be analysed alongside data collected during the duration of the project. The role holder must be confident in analysing and presenting data using a variety of media and will be expected to prepare written and verbal reports of technical information.

Who we are looking for


As part of the essential criteria, applicants must have:

Education/Qualifications

  • Completed PhD in educational research or related topic that has required use of mixed methods

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of carrying out quantitative and qualitative interpretation of data.
  • Demonstrable experience of designing, delivering, and analysing surveys and focus groups.
  • Expertise in reviewing, synthesising, and preparing the outcomes of research studies.

Skills/Personal Requirements 

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and time management skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to work in a team and on own initiative. 
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to write high quality reports.
