Job Description

The Department of Food Science & Technology at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for research fellow positions in the foodomics and food safety lab. 

Roles and responsibilities:

a) evaluate the technical parameters advanced analytical instruments (such as LC-HR-MS, GC-MS and other analytical systems);

b) building our analytical capability by propose and securing new analytical instruments that  can up-lift the analytical capability of our department;

c) provide training service to FST users of these instruments;

d) conduct advanced research work, in collaboration with department PIs or independently by taking advantage of the advanced analytical instruments we purchased;

e) write scientific research proposals independently and in collaboration with PIs to secure external grants (from industry and government funding agency);

f) manage the instruments in our lab in terms of their maximal usage;

g) conduct routine maintaining services of the instruments.

Contract term: Three year at first instance, renewable.

Qualifications

PhD degree in food Science and technology or in closely related field with at least one year working experience. Good written and oral communication skills in English is a must as well as hands-on experience of HPLC-MS and/or GC-MS. Candidates who can pay attention to detail and love analytical science research will be a plus.
