About the role /College

As the Research Assistant in Advanced Nanocarbon Materials you will undertake research activities in line with the Universitys research strategy, specifically in the field of nanocarbon material synthesis, modifications and applications. It is expected that the Research Assistant will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop.

About you

  • Ability to experimentally characterise nanomaterials by using fluorescent microscopy and spectrometry, SEM, TEM, AFM and XPS.
  • Conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision either independently or as a member of a team including: publishing and presenting research outputs at conferences and research forums; contributing to external research funding submissions; participating in supervision of higher degree by research candidates.
  • Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field of nanomaterial synthesis, modifications and applications.

Qualifications

Mandatory: PhD or near completion of PhD programme in the areas of nanomaterial engineering or nanotechnology or colloidal and interface science.
