We are looking for a qualified and committed Senior Course Tutor in Knowledge Exchange to join the Centre for English Language Education.

Centre for English Language Education (CELE)

Since the development of the Nottingham-Ningbo campus in 2004, the Centre for English Language Education (CELE) has aimed to promote high quality teaching in its structure and support of academic programmes delivered in China. With over 110 academic staff, the CELE operation at UNNC is now one of the largest of its kind in the world and is currently supporting all UNNC students on its Preliminary Year, Pre-Sessional and Academic Literacy Development Centre programmes. CELE is in the process of expanding its portfolio into specialized courses for External Pathways, Knowledge Exchange and Outreach

Senior Course Tutor in Knowledge Exchange

Reporting to the Deputy Head of CELE for External Pathways & Knowledge Exchange, and working in close conjunction with members of the wider CELE management team, the main responsibility of the Senior Tutor will be to help lead strategic development and the ongoing day to day management and leadership of the Knowledge Exchange, Outreach and English for Specific Purposes courses in CELE.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified teaching professionals with proven managerial experience able to offer expertise in English for Special Purposes (ESP) including planning and designing teacher training to English language teachers.

Successful applicants must have a Master’s degree in TESOL/Applied Linguistics (or similar relevant field). They will primarily join a growing team responsible for delivering a suite of intensive or specialized courses (including online). The role will involve leading and managing specific projects such as summer school programmes, creating or overseeing the development of appropriate teaching materials and working in liaison with the university Business Development Office and external clients.

Salary will be within the range of RMB 411,197 – RMB 541,469 depending on skills and experience, salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance. In addition, an attractive package including employment support allowance, schooling support and insurance will be provided for international appointments. 

The posts will initially be offered on a fixed term contract for a period of 3 years starting Summer 2021 (later starts for exceptional candidates may be negotiated). This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement. All posts will be based in Ningbo and contracts will be with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China.
