Job Description
Positions are available for Research Assistants and/or Research Fellows (Post-doctoral Fellows) in the laboratory of Dr. Soh Siow Ling, at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). The research in the laboratory is interdisciplinary and we are looking for good candidates with a general science or engineering background. The diverse range of projects in the laboratory include the charging phenomena at the interface of matter, functional polymers, and smart chemical systems. Many types of applications are being investigated, including energy harvesting, controllers, drug delivery, separation, and soft robotics. One of the projects involves the fabrication of non-charging polymers for eliminating the undesirable effects of static charge (e.g., sparks), and collaboration with companies (e.g., food, pharmaceutical, and electronics) and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is preferably a material scientist, chemist, engineer (e.g., chemical, mechanical, etc), or a researcher in a related field. The candidate should have a relevant Bachelor (as a Research Assistant) or Ph.D. (as a Research Fellow) degree. Candidates must have good hands-on skills in experimental work, are independent in research, and have good problem-solving skills.
If interested, please contact Dr. Soh at the following email address: chessl@nus.edu.sg
