Job Description

The Physics department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for research Associate/Assistant-ships to work in the field of computational physics. Successful candidates are preferred to have some experience with density-functional theory (DFT) packages such as VASP, Quantum Espresso and/or WIEN2k. The aim is to employ DFT to study the photonics, energy-storage and gas-sensing properties of 2D systems (Monolayers). The completion of BSc/MSc degree in Physics or Materials Science or Electrical Engineering is required. The appointment will be initially made for one term with possibility of extension for other terms depending upon satisfactory performance. The nominal start date is as soon as possible. The position is located at the UAEU’s main campus in Al-Ain, about one and half hour drive from Abu-Dhabi. The UAEU is the largest and the top-ranked public sector University of the United Arab Emirates. Minimum Qualification

BSc or MSc in Physics or Engineering

Preferred Qualification

MSc in Computational Physics or Computational Materials Science
