The Cancer Research UK Formulation Unit is a unique, internationally renowned and MHRA cGMP licensed facility for the pharmaceutical development of novel anti-cancer agents for initial clinical trial in man. The Unit requires to appoint a Deputy Director to support and assist the Unit’s research, direction and management. The post requires high level function in multiple pharmaceutical research and development areas for oncology Phase I/II clinical trials, contributing practical skills as well as strategic direction, management and guidance, incorporating team and staff management, mentoring and support. A suitably qualified candidate with experience of pharmaceutical research and development for clinical trials preferably within a GMP setting is required. In addition demonstrated experience of team and staff management is essential. For suitable candidates the potential for inclusion in succession planning for the current Director will be considered. Eligibility for registration as a Qualified Person, with the MHRA is desirable.
