Applications are invited for appointments as Post-doctoral Fellow / Research Associate (several posts) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 503392), to commence as soon as possible for one to three years.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering or related disciplines, with a strong background in thermodynamics, physical chemistry and interfacial phenomena. Past experience in fluid dynamics, soft matter, biotechnologies (e.g. PCR, CRISPR/CAS 9), membraneless organelles, microfluidics, etc., would be desirable. Applicants should be highly self-motivated; have a good command of written and spoken English; and be able to work independently. The appointees will work under the supervision of Professor H.C. Shum.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
