Job Profile Programme Management - Programme Manager

Job Purpose
Key Objectives
To support the strategic and operational development of our ICAEW (ACA) programmes, reviewing their quality, effectiveness and efficiency.
To develop and maintain high quality study programmes and both support and look to enhance the delivery of those programmes.
Key Metrics
Supporting the Head of A&T Programmes via:
- Student Progression / Pass rates
- Revenue vs Cost of creation (programme profitability)
- Student/client satisfaction measures
Please note that when appropriate, occasional travel to London will be required.
Job Background
Working Three days a week (to be agreed between Monday – Friday)
Note: Applications will be considered from candidates seeking a 0.6 contract or seeking to do this role for 60% of their working year, with the remaining time spent on teaching or other roles
Key Responsibilities, Accountabilities and day to day activities
Product Landscape
- Manage the academic content and pedagogy of modules and programmes
- Support development and enhancement of BPP’s L4 and L7 Accountancy Apprenticeship programmes
- Support business development and marketing activities where necessary - including providing content for website, proposal documents, open days and webinars etc
- Act as an external/internal advocate of the product portfolio (eg working with marketing, attending conferences etc.)
Content Creation
- Produce content specification and delivery dates for the QS (Production Schedule) and resource allocation
- Produce, in conjunction with the ICAEW Lead SME, detailed guidance for SMEs, reviewers and publishing services Programme Deployment and Monitoring
- Input to scheduling rules
- Establish and analyse quality indicators for programme quality/student performance; monitor and act upon these where necessary
- Assist with internal training as required
- Manage the effectiveness of the programme towards client and student satisfaction and high pass rates
- Maintain processes to collect, analyse and communicate pass rates and other relevant quality KPI
Institute focus
- Key contact for ICAEW re ACA courses, and main conduit for joint initiatives
Client focus
- Oversight of key client programme, performance and progression, contributing to discussions around programme reviews
- Support the BPP client teams in terms of dealing with client queries
- Join quarterly and other ad hoc meetings with key clients to present updates around the ICAEW qualification, pass rate analysis, pathway advice etc.
Teaching, marking, origination
- To undertake a teaching and/or origination load as required, with exact details to be confirmed with line manager.
General
- Proactively liaise with the other HoPs in terms of sharing best practice / sourcing existing solutions, etc.
- Explore synergies with other BPP schools and departments ie BPP University, publishing contracts, etc.
- To undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this role

Candidate criteria
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
- Motivated and educationally focused with excellent communication skills
- Strong interest in programme effectiveness and driving improvements
- An understanding of how accounting and tax programmes are used within the main industry sectors of professional firms, financial services, public sector, and industry and commerce
- An understanding of key themes within these industries such as drive for increased use of technology, improved digital skills etc.
- A willingness to listen and seek out the opinion of others
- Attention to detail and a proven ability to produce high quality work on time and on budget
- Adaptable to change, and ideally a successful track record of leading and/or implementing change
- Attention to detail
- High standards of service to the business and to clients
- Strong skills in organisation, coordination, planning, prioritisation and influencing
- Expertise in teaching modules across Accounting and Tax programmes, including ICAEW
