Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Silica Based Porous Nanomaterials in the Department of Physics (Ref.: 503300), to commence as soon as possible in May 2021 for 18 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or other relevant disciplines with comprehensive experience in metal oxide nanomaterial synthesis and/or mesoporous silica synthesis.  The appointee will conduct research on metal oxide nanoparticle synthesis, mesoporous silica synthesis, and the development and characterization of oxygen scavengers with added functionality (indicator functions, TMA detection) based on functionalized mesoporous silica nanospheres under the supervision of Professor Aleksandra Djurišić.  Enquiries about the post should be sent to Professor Aleksandra Djurišić at

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
