These newly created positions provide high-level advice on strategic, operational and emerging matters to the College Pro Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Head(s) of College,College General Manager, and the Assistant Deans.

The Senior Manager provides leadership and oversight of the Strategy and Operations teams within the portfolio and develops and maintains effective professional relationships engaging at all levels across the College, wider University and key external stakeholders.

How will you inspire us?  

As a key source of operational knowledge, you will contribute to the development and implementation of the Colleges’ Education and Innovation positioning and stakeholder strategy,whilst navigating complex issues affecting the Education and Innovation domain of the College.

Having extensive knowledge and understanding of the education environment within the higher education sector, you will lead and successfully deliver major projects and initiatives in line with strategic objectives and keep well-informed of government and university policies. 

Your outstanding writing skills and significant experience in the preparation of strategic plans, communications and correspondence on diverse and complex policy, planning and operational matters to facilitate informed decision making;including applications/submissions, briefings, reports, and the ability to write for different audiences will set you apart from others.

In addition, you will be able to manage changing demands and priorities in a dynamic, high volume environment whilst providing model leadership and management capacity to inspire and motivate a team of professional staff to deliver exceptional performance and outcomes.

College of Engineering, Science and Environment

The University’s College of Engineering, Science and Environment (CESE) brings together expertise in engineering, environment, and the sciences to deliver life ready graduates and transformative solutions to our region and the world.  CESE strives for excellence, innovation and equity in teaching, education, research and partnerships.  We are global leaders uncovering new knowledge, creating revolutionary technology, and delivering innovative teaching.

The School of Engineering is one of the most research-intensive Schools within the University.  The School consists of four discipline groupings:

  • Civil and Environmental Engineering and Surveying
  • Chemical and Renewable Energy Engineering
  • Aerospace Systems, Electrical, Computer Systems
  • Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering

The School is home to many leading-edge research centres and has strong links with industry through sponsored undergraduate students and research collaborations. It is highly research active, contributing substantially to the overall research inputs and outputs of the CESE.  This is reflected in the 2018 Excellence in Research in Australia outcomes where Electrical, Civil, Mechanical and Resource Engineering codes all received an ERA5.
