About Student Experience
The academic activity of the University is supported by a wide range of service departments. Our Student Experience, Professional Service Unit (PSU) is focused, innovative and committed to enhancing the experience of our students. The PSU brings together a number of services, including the Cranfield Student’s Association, along with the Library, Careers, Student Advice Centre, Technology Enhanced Learning, the Centre for Andragogy & Academic Skills, Networked Learning and Masterships. These key service areas work collaboratively to enhance our student experience.
About the Role
You will manage and develop the operation of the Cranfield Students’ Association (CSA), managing commercial and membership services, providing quality services in a cost effective way, whilst ensuring the services are focused on supporting our student experience. The role will ensure representation of the interests of students (Student Voice and engagement) and provide services that enhance their time at the University.
The role will manage the CSA activity to meet the recreational, social and leisure needs of students and to promote their welfare, in cooperation and collaboration with the University.
You will have managerial experience at an operational level, preferably within a Students’ Union or Not-For-Profit organisation. Knowledge of Higher Education will assist candidates in the expectations of the role and the stakeholder management required. Awareness in aspects of running commercial operations would be an advantage alongside experience of budget management. A clear interest in customer experience and student support is central to the role, which is aligned with the University’s target of delivering a top 10 learner experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential as you will be dealing with a wide range of staff across the University.
In return, the successful applicant for this key role will be joining a supportive team environment and have exciting opportunities for career development.
Our shared, stated values help to define who we are and underpin everything we do: Ambition; Impact; Respect; and Community. Find out more here. We aim to create and maintain a culture in which everyone can work and study together and realise their full potential.
Diversity and Inclusion
Our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring have shown that minority ethnic groups are currently underrepresented within the university and so we actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from these groups.
We actively consider flexible working options such as part-time, compressed or flexible hours and/or an element of homeworking, and whether a position can be carried out at any of our locations. We commit to exploring the possibilities for each role. Find out more here.
