Now is an exciting time to study molecular factors involved in complex diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and cancers. At the department of Life Sciences, we have an opportunity for a Post-Doctoral Researcher to act as Senior Health Data Scientist.

You will be working with Dr Pazoki’s group in an ambitious environment with high impact research agenda. In our group, we apply advanced methods such as genome wide association analysis, polygenic models, machine learning, and mendelian randomization analysis to understand genetic and lifestyle causes of complex diseases. This opportunity is funded by the MRC Rutherford fund and we are in active collaboration with University of Cambridge and Imperial College London.

Candidates with a PhD degree in Data Science, Genetic Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, Statistical Genetics, or related fields are encouraged to apply. You should have a track record in health-related data research as well as excellent data analytical skills which are essential for this role.

We work hard to provide a supportive and positive working environment. The Department of Life Sciences proudly holds an Athena SWAN Bronze Award. We are also a Disability Confident employer. The diversity of our staff adds greatly to this inclusive ethos, and we particularly welcome applications from women and under-represented groups.
