Job Description Summary
The Research Specialist A will conduct research and provide technical support to several projects studying the development of biologically based electrodes for auditory rehabilitation using electrophysiological, optogenetic, imaging and behavioral methods in rodents. The position requires basic knowledge of neuroscience, biology, and chemistry. Responsibilities include: assistance with electrophysiological, optogenetic and imaging experiments, cell culture, surgical procedures with rats, immunohistochemistry of brain tissue, data analysis, organization and maintenance of laboratory logs, data curation and backup, laboratory maintenance. Ability to keep accurate records and excellent organizational skills are essential. We are looking for a creative, friendly and responsible individual.
Position is contingent on continued funding.

The job pay range encompasses the full range of employees from new hires to the salaries of current Penn employees with many years of experience and seniority and is not a precise indicator of salaries of new hires when looking at the top end.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
