Note: Not all unique aspects of the job are covered by this job description

Stanford University is one of the world’s premier academic and research institutions, devoting tremendous intellectual and physical resources toward the betterment of humanity. As a major Silicon Valley employer, Stanford seeks people committed to excellence and to improving our world. In turn, the university is committed to supporting its employees as they develop their careers and enrich their lives.  We believe Stanford’s future success will be shaped by the diverse perspectives, unique experiences, and inclusive culture of its community.

University Corporate and Foundation Relations (UCFR) is a unit within the Stanford University Office of Development. The mission of UCFR is to grow, sustain, and leverage Stanford’s relationships with key corporate and foundation funders to support the work of our faculty and students. Working closely with school- and unit-based colleagues, the UCFR team serves as relationship managers for corporations and foundations with multiple university interests and provides CFR support to faculty across campus, and especially to the Offices of the President, Provost, and Vice Provost and Dean of Research; interdisciplinary research centers and initiatives; and the School of Humanities and Sciences. In addition, the UCFR team works regularly with Stanford’s Principal and Major Gifts teams on more complex proposals for personal and family foundations, and sometimes serves as development lead for research programs and units where corporate and/or foundation support is particularly important. The team also works routinely with school and research administrative colleagues on university policy issues related to corporate and foundation support.

We seek experienced candidates, with strong preference for those with sponsored research experience or knowledge, for a Development Officer position on the UCFR team.  If you enjoy building and maintaining relationships, have exceptional attention to detail, are intellectually curious, and enjoy working with faculty and staff across a University, this may be the right opportunity for you.
