Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of General Surgery, is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The appointee will provide longitudinal inpatient and outpatient care to patients seeking breast care, and participate in basic, clinical/outcomes, or translational research. Direct patient care responsibilities include managing patients with complex surgical oncological needs and limited off-hours and weekend coverage. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity.

We especially welcome applicants with specialized training in breast surgical oncology as a primary focus and availability to begin employment by March 1, 2021.  Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible in general surgery, and 4) have completed an accredited fellowship or equivalent training in surgical oncology or breast surgical oncology.
