Job Description Summary

The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is the oldest and one of the finest medical schools in the United States. Penn is rich in tradition and heritage and at the same time consistently at the forefront of new developments and innovations in medical education and research. Since its founding in 1765 the School has been a strong presence in the community and prides itself on educating the leaders of tomorrow in patient care, biomedical research, and medical education.

This position is contingent upon funding.

Job Description

Responsibilities include coordinating and managing NIH-funded and industry-sponsored imaging studies, organizing and maintaining study documentation, database entry, resolving data queries, review of medical records, and other research systems; preparing and processing regulatory documents for submission to the institutional review committees. (e.g. IRB, CTSRMC), and all regulatory committees from study start-up to completion, including initial submissions, amendments, modifications, and annual reviews. Additional responsibilities include pre-processing of MRI data for preparation of image analysis. Prepare and submit data use agreement documents with collaborating studies, including initial submissions, amendments, modifications, and annual reviews. Organize and maintain all study documentation via PennChart, RedCAP, and other systems, as required by the research grant or sponsor.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Effective oral, written, organizational and interpersonal skills. Good communication skills and experience with direct patient contact. Experience with Radiology imaging modalities preferred.
