Applications are invited for a fractional (0.3 FTE) teaching fellowship in Sociology to support the delivery of its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes during the academic year 2020/21 and the first term of 2021/22. The post will involve co-convenorship of modules, supervision of postgraduate taught dissertations, contributing guest lectures and specialist support on a range of topics and support of the core functioning of our degree programmes through providing academic advice and undertaking academic-related administration. The post-holders will report formally to the Head of Department but will work on a day-to-day basis with Directors of Education, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate Studies and Social Research Methods as appropriate. We will expect the postholder to contribute to student support processes and initiatives to support students who are engaging with our programmes under more complex circumstances (online, remotely and in cohorts which may be larger than normal).

We are seeking to appoint candidates who can demonstrate an ability to teach and assess sociological theory at undergraduate level.
