Job Description Summary

The Research Specialist A will carry out nucleic acid purification from COVID-19 clinical specimens, amplify sequences from the specimens using RT-PCR, sequence the genomes using Illumina technology, and assist with data interpretation. In addition, the technician will be trained in BSL2+ level work, and help aliquot, archive, and accession samples from clinical collection pipeline.
The specialist will also assist in projects studying the location of new DNA integrated into host genomes using Illumina sequencing.

Position contingent upon funding.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 0-1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
