Job Description

Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives in the field of neurotrauma and neuroscience using large and small animals, with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments. Experiments may include large and small animal surgeries, cell culture, electrophysiology, animal behavior and imaging. Other tasks include maintenance of logs and lab reports, biological specimen catalogs and assistance in scheduling experiments. Bench experiments include tissue preparation and sectioning, histology and immunology. Daily management of laboratory equipment, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with senior lab members and Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental/clinical work set ups in accordance to established protocols. Handle controlled substances such as pharmaceutical, radiological or hazardous materials; Have access to sensitive data related to research projects and grants such as intellectual property.This position is contingent on funding.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree and 1 to 3 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
