A Lecturer is expected to make contributions to the teaching effort of the University and to carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the discipline. A Lecturer is expected to carry out independent and/or team research and may supervise postgraduate research students.A Senior Lecturer is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of the Department/School and Academic Group and play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities. A Senior Lecturer is expected to make independent and original contributions to research which have significant impact on the field of expertise.
The position will commence with a Teaching and Research profile of which the appointee will be required to undertake teaching and research in their chosen area of expertise (Applied Mathematics), as well as contribute to the School/Centre/Institute's teaching outcomes supporting teaching excellence and research outcomes including alignment with relevant Centre/Institutes research agendas, publications and research success, and higher degree research supervision and completions, and engagement activities.
This is a continuing, fulltime position based at the Gold Coast campus. Griffith is a multi-campus university and therefore it is understood that this position will work across campuses as required.
You will be an excellent and inspiring teacher and researcher in Applied Mathematics. You will have a strong and rapidly developing research profile in Applied Mathematical modelling (preference will be given to alignment with Griffith University's strengths in the Physical, Quantum, Environmental, or Data Science fields). You will attract external research funding and supervise research student projects, building your own research group allied to one of our leading research Institutes or centres.
Senior Lecturer, Level C: $117,905 - $135,955 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $137,949 - $159,068 per annum.
Lecturer, Level B: $96,249 - $114,299 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $112,611 - $133,370 per annum.
