Job Description

The Department of Biological Sciences at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the position of Tenure-track Assistant Professorship in the area of urban ecology and sustainability.

The position is based in DBS. The department has over 60 full-time faculty members with diverse research expertise in three focal areas (Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity; Cell, Molecular and Developmental Biology; and Biophysical Sciences) and over 300 full-time graduate students from 19 countries. Teaching and research facilities and support are world-class and the university (www.nus.edu.sg) and department (www.dbs.nus.edu.sg) are highly regarded internationally.

The candidate will be required to:

  • Develop and lead competitive research program.
  • Participate in teaching.
  • Contribute to service duties as required.

Qualifications

  • PhD and postdoctoral experience in environmental science, conservation science, sustainability science, geography or related fields.
  • Demonstrable, strong record and trajectory in research output, grant capture and teaching excellence.
  • Broad research interest and expertise in sustainability science that incorporates ecological principles and nature-based solutions into urban design and planning.
