Job Description Summary

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting LDI’s grant-funded portfolio of work through theimplementation and execution of communications strategies. Working alongside the LDI Assistant Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator will work to elevate the profiles of LDI and its partnerships to internal and external audiences with the goal of enhancing the reach, impact, and reputation of these groups among researchers and policy makers.  

Job Description

The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for updating and maintaining the website, optimizing and maintaining social media accounts, assisting with the development and implementation of communications plans for projects and events, assisting with the design and creation of website graphics and branded materials, researching and curating stakeholder networks, and assisting with the creation of newsletters, presentations and annual reports. Additional responsibilities include proofreading and copy editing print and digital content per branding guidelines, researching and writing outreach materials, tracking media mentions and related surveillance, and producing communications-related analytics reports. The Communications Coordinator must be detail oriented, excel at problem solving and multitasking, have strong writing skills, and be a self-starter with a results orientation. Prior experience in a communications role is strongly preferred. Proficiency is required in website content management systems, social media platforms, email marketing programs, website analytics, listserv management, and graphic design software.

A Bachelor’s Degree with 2 to 3 years of experience in communications; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational background and/or professional experience in health care or health policy are strongly preferred. Proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms, email marketing programs, website analytics, listserv management and design software is required. The Communications Coordinator must be detail oriented, excel at problem solving, have strong writing skills, excel at multi-tasking, and be a self-starter with a results orientation. The Communications Coordinator will interact with a variety of faculty members, staff, and students throughout the University and individuals outside the University, so strong interpersonal communication skills are essential. The Communications Coordinator should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
