Job Description
This project is to develop accurate and efficient numerical methods for simulating flows from continuum regime to rarefied regime. The methods should also be low memory consumption so that they can be applied to solve the practical problem with limited computer resources. The work will involve the solution of Boltzmann equation in the physical space and phase velocity space, gas kinetic flux solver and asymptotic solution to Boltzmann equation.
Qualifications
The proposed project extensively involves mathematical modelling, computer programming, and numerical simulation. It requires researchers to have strong background in mathematics and computational physics. The candidate must have a PhD degree and experiences in mathematical derivation and numerical implementation of discrete velocity method/gas kinetic flux solver for solution of Boltzmann equation.
