About the role

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) provides resources, advice and manages strategies to support and advance teaching and learning excellence for students and staff at Southern Cross University. The Centre’s work is underpinned by a learning-centred approach which positions learning at the centre of decisions and practice.

The Lecturer in Teaching and Learning plays a key role in the delivery of service and support to our academic colleagues to enhance the teaching practices and student learning outcomes. The appointee will provide leadership in educational design and delivery, and teaching and learning, to improve pedagogy and quality across the University. You will apply your expertise in contemporary learning and curriculum design and assessment to lead the application of contemporary learning theory to practice, including involvement in practice-based research in the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Driving excellence in curriculum design and delivery, the successful candidate will develop strong working relationships with academic staff across the University.

A remuneration package of up to $138,091 per annum is offered for a Lecturer appointment, inclusive of base salary $99,649-$118,027 per annum and 17% employer contribution to superannuation.  Pro-rata for part-time appointment(s).

The successful candidate(s) may negotiate a full-time or part-time appointment based at either our Gold Coast or Lismore (NSW) campuses. The University may make up to two appointments as part of this recruitment process.

About you

We are seeking applications from successful university teaching and learning academics with a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement in curriculum design and delivery.You will have a strong working knowledge of contemporary learning practices and educational technologies, and have proven success in engaging academic colleagues in the pursuit of excellence.

With an energetic and collaborative approach, you will be committed to applying evidenced-based best practice to deliver the highest standard of tertiary education. You will demonstrate strong knowledge of Higher Education Standards and substantial experience designing and coordinating work-integrated professional learning activities. In addition to your doctoral studies, applicants should demonstrate a track record of practice-based research, publication and scholarship related to learning and teaching in higher education.
