Job Description Summary

The Research Coordinator will be required to coordinate the day-to-day operations for several research protocols. He/she will be responsible for the abstract. This position is for someone with a strong interest in research. This position provides direct experience in management and execution of non-GLP and GLP regulatory preclinical investigations and hypothesis-driven translational research with academic collaborators. He/she will participate in research study planning, and hands-on training centers in laboratory supply chain management, regulatory compliance, animal welfare protocols, perioperative care of study animals, preclinical regulatory principles (Good Laboratory Practice), and in vitro and in vivo measurement techniques. In addition, he/she will assist in the oversight and execution of standard operating procedures, animal study protocols, and training of laboratory personnel.  

Job Description

Administrative Responsibilities: Manage laboratory supplies inventory and ordering

Assist and coordinate Large Animal Coordinator with various administrative tasks including scheduling of Res Assistants, equipment maintenance, animal transports

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance in accordance with CORL SOPs/GLP and IACUC protocols.

Animal Welfare / In vivo Operations: Ensure compliance in accordance of animal welfare protocols; including protocol submission, - renewals, -amendments.

Assist veterinarians during perioperative care and long-term care of research animals.

Orient/train others (peers and undergraduate students) in Animal Welfare policies, and GLP procedures (i.e., SOP, Study Protocol, biological sample processing) as deemed appropriate.

Oversee the handling of large animals, barns/animal facilities, and associated equipment; maintenance of husbandry associated equipment; and storage, stock, and status of husbandry supplies, and equipment.

Perform weekend animal wellness checks (at least once monthly) and weekday wellness checks (as needed)

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Regulatory experience preferred.
