Job Description Summary

The Penn Memory Center (PMC) is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator C to join our multi-disciplinary team of health professionals.
This coordinator will lead and assist other coordinators in the execution of clinical trials and longitudinal cohort studies at PMC. This work includes the recruitment and retention of potential research participants. This research recruits a spectrum of older adults including persons with no cognitive impairment and persons with cognitive impairment caused by Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases.

Job Description

This position will be a resource for best practices of managing major clinical trials. The coordinator will provide guidance to both Industry and federally funded research trials. The coordinator will be a liaison to departmental interaction such as the investigational team, collaborating centers and sponsor.  He/She will be a resource to other members of the team and will oversee the start up and implementation of new clinical trials as well as taking the lead on a federally funded study. Will problem-solve the challenges in implementing plans of action; will work with the regulatory manager to ensure that submissions to the IRB are completed in a timely manner.  Will supervise the execution of the trial with the staff to ensure adherence to the protocol. Will coordinate with the neuropsychologist to determine training and certification requirements for PMC studies. Ensure completion in a timely manner. If certified, administer cognitive assessments. The coordinator will take a lead role supervising any monitoring visits that takes place with assigned clinical trials. S/he will provide weekly updates to the research team and the directors.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 4-6 years of related experience in research or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Position is contingent on funding.
