Role Description

An opportunity has arisen within Cranfield University’s Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team for a learning Content Designer.  Based within the Student Experience Professional Service Unit (PSU). The TEL team work closely with academics and support staff from across the University Schools, PSUs and the new MK:U Accelerator project team to help develop and produce innovative and engaging online learning content.

The role demands the development and production of innovative, engaging and accessible learning content solutions to meet both live and self-paced learning requirements across a broad range of mediums. 

You will work in collaboration with team colleagues and academics as required to produce high quality learning materials that improve and enhance the teaching and learning experience at Cranfield. The post will work closely with the three schools based on the Cranfield campus and on other projects, including the MK:U accelerator programme. MK:U is planned to be a new model university for Milton Keynes, designed to meet urgent technological and skills gaps, focused on a curriculum for the digital economy. Find out more here.

You will be required to analyse in detail various content requests, explore appropriate solutions, plan and manage your time effectively and deliver content and assets in an efficient and timely manner. 

You will have significant relevant work experience working in a client facing environment across a broad range of design mediums. You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent graphic design, video and audio production, digital publication and interactive HTML (H5P) content design skills along with an awareness of the principles and application of learning design. You will be expected to have expert skills and knowledge of the relevant Adobe Creative Cloud applications. 

You will need to demonstrate self-confidence and excellent communications skills, which will include the ability to communicate effectively across a broad spectrum of individuals, managerial levels and international cultures together with well-honed design and presentation skills. 

A higher education / learning environment background will be a distinct advantage.
