Position Focus:

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and Director of the Eastern Caribbean Outcomes Research Network (ECHORN) Coordinating Center, manage research encompassed within the Equity Research and Innovation Center (ERIC) pillar on global health disparities. The Project Manager will be responsible for programmatic administration of the ECHORN research infrastructure. Responsibilities include management of ECHORN Coordinating Center (ECC) site logistics, coordination of domestic and international study sites, oversight of study data collection, report generation, and maintenance of compliance with regulatory and funder requirements.

The Project Manager will interact with the collaborative research team across multiple domestic and international sites to provide support to investigators from the study design phase through the dissemination of results of a population-based cohort study. The Project Manager will direct many aspects of project coordination, research design, implementation, and reporting of results. They will communicate information and data in written and verbal form to colleagues, sponsors, senior management, government officials and the public. The Project Manager will assist in grant-writing, drafting progress reports, and meeting regulatory requirements, such as human subject protocols. Finally, the applicant will assist the study team with disseminating results, helping to prepare manuscripts and presentations.

Essential Duties

1. Oversees the execution and implementation of detailed project plans in concert with stakeholders. 2. Manages several routine projects simultaneously and ensures that the design, testing, training, documentation and prioritization objectives are met. 3. Assists in refining and re-sequencing during the implementation and execution phases of assigned projects, as needed. 4. Works closely with business analysts, technical professionals, end users and project stake holders during the requirements, solutions design and implementation phases to develop detailed project plans for implementation. 5. Works on risk assessment, communication planning, development of performance metrics, and project entry criteria. 6. Creates detailed project plans including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project completion. 7. Manages client expectations and provides issue/risk identification and escalation pathways. 8. May supervise the implementation team of cross-functional project and technical resources. 9. Designs, develops, and executes communication systems to ensure effective exchange of information between project stakeholders, senior management, and staff. 10. Resolves complex project issues that involve representatives from multiple organizations. 11. Complies with standard policies and procedures. 12. May supervise and train junior project managers. 13. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and five years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Project coordination skills. Proven ability to track deliverables, seek out opportunities to improve efficiency, develop and implement timelines and drive completion of deliverables via facilitation of teamwork.

Required Skill/Ability 4:

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication, organization, and planning skills. Ability to communicate regularly with diverse teams of internal and external research collaborators to maintain timeline and identify challenges to progress.

Required Skill/Ability 5:

Proven experience in scientific writing. Excellent oral and written communication. Demonstrated understanding of compliance issues, surrounding human subjects research. Familiarity with HIC and IRB protocols.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Master’s Degree in a related discipline (public health, health services, health/public policy) and two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
