Location: Medway campus
Salary: £20,675 to £23,067 per annum, Plus a 16% Shift Allowance
Contract Type: Fixed Term - 1 year Fixed-Term contract until October 2021 (Full time, shift pattern over 7 days)

The Drill Hall Library is a unique and major facility providing an integrated library and IT service to staff, students and visitors of the Universities at Medway, comprised of the Universities of Greenwich, Kent and Canterbury Christ Church at their shared Medway Campus.
We are seeking to appoint a Reception and Security Assistant to our existing team to support our library users in a friendly, efficient, fair and effective manner as well as being the welcoming first point of contact for all visitors.
The post-holder will participate in a number of the activities including, building opening and closing procedures, operation of security equipment, patrolling the building, basic support and administration duties. The post holder will provide support for the day-to-day operation of the Library, including the equipment within the library. The post holder will work primarily with students and academic staff.
Participation in a rota for regular evening and Bank holidays and weekend support is a core part of the role.
This is a customer-facing role and you should have proven experience of working within a busy customer service environment. You will be proactive, highly motivated and able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills with the ability to deal with difficult face-to-face situations.

The role is based within the Drill Hall Library on the Medway campus at Chatham.
