A Research Fellow position is currently available in the Bio-Data Science and Education Laboratory, School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Explore how data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning may be deployed towards investigating signs of human-based deep learning
  • Identify useful feature sets that may predict future performance and develop tools and applications that help learners acquire higher levels of proficiency
  • Understand and measure how students acquire non-academic abilities, e.g. teamwork, leadership, communication, resilience and adaptability
  • The setting will be on NTU’s unique experiential learning DEEP programme

Requirements

  • PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Science (other relevant degrees may also be considered)
  • Indicators of high productivity and motivation even if you have no experience working on education technology (Edtech) projects
  • You will be jointly supervised by Dr Wilson Goh, Bio-Data Science and Education Laboratory (School of Biological Sciences) and Dr Sze Chun Chau, Director of Experiential Learning (President’s Office), Nanyang Technological University.

About Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF)

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
