TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE, BIOCHEMISTRY/POLYMER CHEMISTRY, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research-Langer Lab (2 opengins), to assist with the development of ingestible polymeric drug dosage forms against a variety of diseases. The research group consists of chemists, biologists, engineers, pharmaceutical scientists, and physicians and focuses on developing clinically relevant solutions to gastrointestinal drug delivery systems. The primary responsibilities will include the collaborative development of novel biomaterials and polymeric formulations for the delivery of small molecules and biologics, characterizing the in vitro performance of these formulations, and conducting early and late-stage preclinical testing in animal models.
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree in a related field; two years of laboratory experience (that may include experience gained as an undergraduate); research background in both drug product and biomaterial development, but training to gain skills in either area will be available; strong written and oral communication skill; and ability to interface with multiple scientists and work in a fast-paced research environment. Those with relevant experience in two or more of following areas are encouraged to apply: design and development of polymeric drug delivery systems; synthesis and physicochemical characterization of polymers; analytical techniques, including HPLC-MS, GPC, NMR and SEM; basic molecular biology (qPCR, SDS-PAGE); bioconjugate chemistry (antibody, peptide and polymer chemistry); basic cell culture techniques and analysis via flow cytometry; non-viral gene delivery; and animal and tissue handling, e.g., rodents and pigs.
