Job Description Summary

This position will manage, administer, oversee and troubleshoot the daily human resource support activities and recruitment operations of all divisions within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The Manager of Staffing and Recruitment will oversee the work of 1 HR direct report (Coordinator A) and will serve as the central point of contact for the department regarding HR policies in support of the DFO. This position work with hiring managers and program directors to ensure the recruitment process proceeds in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations. In addition, the Manager will develop a plan with divisions on how to support supervisors on talent management of existing staff, and advise on personnel issues and concerns. The Manager of Staffing and Recruitment will work collaboratively with various University offices, hiring managers, staff and faculty to oversee several human resource functions including talent management and staff relations. The position will lead and coordinate a forum of human resource liaisons within the department to help disseminate new policies and regulations, advise on their implementation, and devise strategies to improve execution of HR processes across the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

The position will also oversee the administrative assistant group in the Department of Path and Lab Medicine as well as the department courier (2 direct reports).   

Qualifications

Bachelors and 3-5 years of experience in human resources preferably at The University of Pennsylvania. Demonstrated progression to roles of increasing responsibilities and complexity, to include supervision.  Knowledge of immigration, university policies and Workday strongly preferred.

Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.  Excellent administrative, organization and follow up skills, to include attention to detail.

Ability to coordinate and perform multiple tasks accurately and timely.

Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

$50,684.00 - $91,232.00
