Job Description Summary
Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tool, documentations, and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables. Closely collaborates with Senior Research Specialists and Principal Investigator (PI) on experimental/clinical work set ups in accordance to established protocols.
Job Description
The Research Specialist will be responsible for the analysis of equine samples in a large scale, high-throughput, A2LA-accredited analytical laboratory. Duties will include the login, preparation, and/or analysis of forensic and research samples using provided Standard Operating Procedures and under the oversight of managerial staff. Analyze Samples by mass spectrometry and ELISA using standard operating procedures and complete required reports. Assist with Research as needed. Assist with sample extraction. Assist with sample login and dumping. Assist with method validation and writing standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
The Penn Vet Equine Pharmacology Laboratory is seeking to employ an Analytical Chemist. Qualified individuals would preferably have a BS in chemistry and 0 to 1 year of experience with liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry and ELISA. Strict attention to detail and the ability to collaborate well with others is required.
