Job Description
The Research Specialist C will assist in the study of viral infection and immunity using a Drosophila model. The Research Specialist C will perform studies manipulating the microbiota of flies and determining the impact on viral infection. This involves bacterial culture, fly dissections and molecular biology. Duties also include data analysis and figure production. In addition to all of the above, the Research Specialist C will also work with Dr. Cherry to perform additional studies on metabolites in viral infections. He/she must be able to identify and resolve technical issues and use analytical and decision making skills to implement assigned projects. Dr. Cherry's laboratory is in an academic setting at the University of Pennsylvania, Perelman School of Medicine, Philadelphia. Position is contingent on continued funding
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience in research, clinical study, project and people management or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Working Conditions
Office, Library, Computer Room; Requires extensive safety
