The Earth Observatory in Singapore (EOS) invite applications for a Research Fellow to investigate volcanic processes combining monitoring and experimental approaches.
Job Responsibilities
- Characterize, through analogue modelling, volcanic conduit dynamic and associated monitoring signature
- Conduct, if/when possible, field measurement of degassing at active volcanoes
- Expected to publish the scientific outcomes of this research in high quality, peer-reviewed, international scientific journals
- Will have the opportunity to participate in the various volcanology-related education and outreach activities of the Earth Observatory of Singapore and the Asian School of the Environment
Job Requirements
- PhD degree in volcanology
- Prior experience in analogue modelling. First-hand experience of field measurement is an advantage
- Mastering of a programming language would be valued (e.g. Python, Matlab…)
- Self-driven, highly motivated, with interest to work with other researchers and scientists (team player) to produce high-quality research
