Research Specialist A

Job Description Summary

Research Specialist will work with a team of researchers to elucidate mechanisms of epigenetic misregulation in cancer, and find ways to harness this information as potential therapeutic targets. A potential candidate will be part of goal-oriented and enthusiastic team and will be responsible to handle cell cultures and perform various molecular biology experiments (e.g. CRISPR genome editing, gene cloning, wester blotting, qPCR). Ability to analyze data, plan individual experiment, and maintain records are of great importance. This position is contingent on funding.

Job Description

Research Specialist A will closely collaborates with students, postodcs, and principle investigator on planning, execution and documentation of experiments based on established protocols.

Research Specialist B will undertake the duties outlined for the Research Specialist A position, with the additional expectation that the candidate will conduct more complex experiments to answer research questions in addition to employing established methods. It is expected that the Research Specialist B candidate will have a greater laboratory experience than the Research Specialist A candidate, such that s/he can make greater contributions to more complex questions, and is expected to perform more independently.

Qualifications:

Research Specialist A: Bachelor's degree with O-1 years of related experience in research methodologies

Research Specialist B: Bachelor's degree in Life sciences with 1-3 years of experience in research methodologies
