The Office of Enrollment Management is an integral part of Yale School of Nursing (YSN), overseeing the recruitment, admissions operations, and yield activities for students interested in graduate degree programs at YSN. The Office reports to the Dean’s Office and works closely with Offices of Diversity and Inclusion, Alumni Relations and Communications. Alongside the Director and other members of the enrollment management office, the Admissions Officer will plan and manage the overall recruitment efforts, including on-campus, off-campus and virtual events to align with the strategic priorities of the School and the Office, as well as with the needs/interests of prospective students. Implements innovative marketing and recruiting strategies to attract a diverse (e.g., racial, ethnic, socioeconomic status, first generation identity, sexual orientation) applicant pool/incoming student cohort. Delivers public presentations to promote Yale School of Nursing to prospective applicants. Advise applicants on the application process. Coordinate recruiting activities in assigned geographical area. Serve as a liaison with organizations and individuals involved in the admissions process. Counsel prospective students regarding degree offerings and prepares reports on recruitment efforts.
As a member of the Admissions team, contribute at all levels as needed including handling special projects and event planning (i.e. admitted student days). Maintain a positive, professional and businesslike manner to clients, students, and other personnel. Maintains on-campus communication assets such as display cases and brochure holders or similar. Ensures that all materials are correctly prepared for the Committee on Admissions (in a timely fashion). Acts as liaison with the Offices of Admissions, Registrar, Student Affairs, Student Health, Bursar, Financial Aid, and Communications. Monitors applications, ensure application compliance and completion, and follows up with students on missing application materials as needed. Maintain Slate campaigns, blasts, events, and similar. Collaborates on data imports and exports from Slate to Banner and vice versa while ensuring data quality and integrity. A writing sample will be requested at point of interview.

- Evaluates all admissions applications, interviews prospective applicants, and independently assesses each application against a variety of factors, including the applicant’s strength, weaknesses and potential contribution to the Yale community. Determines applicant’s standing within local, national and international applicant pools.
- Presents applicant recommendations to admissions committee. Briefs admissions committee about applicants and about schools and geographical regions as they relate to evaluation of applicant files. Determines which applicants will be waitlisted
- Develops public presentations designed to promote Yale to prospective applicants.
- Advises secondary school counselors, applicants and parents on the application process.
- Coordinates alumni recruiting activities in assigned geographical areas.
- Serves as a liaison with organizations and individuals involved in the admissions process.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skill/Ability 1:
Demonstrated skills in computerized technology, including spreadsheets, databases and web pages. Previous experience using SLATE.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Ability to use the latest technology in recruitment and enrollment planning. Prior experience of holistic and contextual application review at a highly selective college or university graduate admissions office and in marketing, recruitment, as well as event planning. Experience working in an admission office as a student employee or professional staff member.
Preferred Licenses or Certifications:
Strong preference for a driver with a valid driver's license.
