Job Details

A Project Officer position is currently available in the School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences. The incumbent will be involved in a project to study the reactivity of organometallic complexes with the heavier group 14 elements. The molecular species will be used as precursors for deposition as mixed-metal phases which are of interests in microelectronics and as heterogeneous catalysts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Carry out experiments on the synthesis, reactivity, and CVD of organometallic cluster complexes
  • Assist in administrative matters relating to the research group

Job Requirements

  • At least a BSc(Hons) in Chemistry or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of organometallic chemistry, inorganic and organic chemistry, and/or nanotechnology
  • Be proficient with manipulations involving organometallic, inorganic and organic compounds, and nanomaterials
  • Willing to explore a wide range of research areas including electronics and catalysis

The prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Postdoctoral Fellowship (LKY PDF) was established in 1991 under the Lee Kuan Yew Endowment Fund. The Fellowship supports and promotes young and outstanding researchers to realise their full potential in the areas of Engineering, Science, Humanities, and Medicine.

The Fellowship will be awarded concurrently with the candidate's appointment as a research staff in NTU.

Eligibility: 

• Excellent academic records and research potential.
• Recent PhD graduates, or with at most 1 postdoctoral training from a reputable university. 

Terms and Conditions: 
• The Fellowship will be tenable for a period of 3 years.  
• In addition to an attractive remuneration, the successful candidate will be awarded a research grant of S$180,000 for research consumables and research related expenditure.
