Research Fellow, Materials/Chemical/Mechanical/Nanotechnology/Physics/Chemistry

School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the project direction in hybrid supercapacitors
• Focus on new materials and electrode architecture for hybrid supercapacitor
• Synthesis of new materials for batteries and supercapacitors and hybrid supercapacitors
• Lab management and safety responsibilities
• Mentor junior researchers and students
• Progress report presentation, proposal writing and demonstration

Job Requirements:

• Possess at least a doctorate Degree in Engineering/Science (Materials/Chemical/Mechanical/Nanotechnology/Physics/Chemistry) or equivalent
• Widely experience in various materials synthesis techniques
• Expertise in materials characterization techniques including XRD, SEM, TEM, spectroscopic techniques
• Knowledge of electrochemical studies, including such as galvanostatic, potentiostatic, impedance techniques
• Knowledge of scientific or materials engineering software will be an added advantage
• Experience in fabrication of batteries and hybrid supercapacitors is an advantage
• Prior experience in the field of research is an added advantage
• An effective team player with good communication & interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently without supervision
• Able to work with glove box
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
